My story about red cowboy boots is about when I took Piper (our third, second girl) and her older sibs to the store to find sandals for the hot Texas summer. I was looking through the shoes on the rack and turned back to discover Piper holding some a box with the most adorable, beatific expression on her face: they were the best shoes she'd ever seen--red cowboy boots! No mother could turn that down. We got them in an extra-big size so they would last. We even put cotton in the toes for a while. She loved those boots so much! She wore them until her feet wouldn't go into them any more. When she got to kindergarten her godmother and I made her several different cowgirl outfits to go with her red boots. At school they made stick horses and had a special "rodeo" one day. There she was in her red cowboy boots! What a great memory! betsy aka lovvbugg
