BEST WOOD BASE DOLL STAND--is a great size for American Girl and other 18 inch girl dolls. Mahogany finish on the wood. The metal IS plastic-dipped. We don't think Mattel/AG can offer a stand any nicer than this one.

Dimensions of the stand: Base 5-1/2 inches in diameter x 1/2 inch thick; 9 inch upright and the insert is 10 inches long, so, closed, it stands 10-1/2 inches tall overall. Stand expands to at least 15 inches tall, and upper piece can be put around a taller doll's neck OR waist.

Spread your doll's feet out if you have trouble with her falling over.

Easiest to use if you put wire part on doll and THEN insert it into the base!
