WHITE LACE SMOCKED DRESS WITH DUTCH GIRLS DESIGN--Made to fit American Girl and Bitty Baby dolls (the difference is in the length go their legs). This pretty dress is made of an absolutely gorgeous swiss embroidery (which is called lace while it is really more similar to eyelet) skirt with embroidered Dutch girls all in a row (see last picture for that detail). The gathering for the skirt was done with pale, pale pink hand-smocking. There are three pretty little hand-embroidered roses applied down the front of the pleated bodice.

This sort of ''Swiss embroidery'' fabric would run you at least $10 per yard to buy--if you could find it in a specialty fabrics store. It is very rare to come across goods this nice anywhere in the USA.

This will make a super First Communion Dress for your doll or, if you're not Catholic, use it as a special Easter dress.
