NASA ASTRONAUT WITH HAT COSTUME--A miniature version of the famous zippered jumpsuit worn by NASA astronauts. So cute! Has patch pockets on the legs with little zippers, too. On one side of the front is a Space Shuttle patch and on the other side is a NASA patch. There is an American flag patch on one sleeve. There is ribbing at the arm and leg openings and mini plastic buckles on the front straps and front belt. The black cap has another patch, too.
The NASA program is very special in my husband's family. His father worked at NASA during the Apollo years and after, and then my husband worked on the team that bought the famous tiles that were incorrectly installed on the bottom of the Space Shuttle. Did you know that every one of those tiles was made to fit in the exact position it was installed? Yup, and they were nasty expensive, too. That is why they went to so much trouble to recover the ones that fell off. The installer used the wrong kind of 'glue' to attach them. That's why they came off. Just the other night my husband said it is hard to believe the Space Shuttle has been retired now...
