DUTCH "WOODEN" CLOGS DOLL SHOES--Made to fit American Girl dolls. OUR STOCK IS VERY LOW ON THESE AND WE PROBABLY CANNOT REPLACE THEM!

These are one of the cutest items I/we have ever seen for dolls! And that is saying a lot coming from someone who has sold this stuff for 28 years and has 3 girls!

These shoes are NOT made of wood, they are made of resin (a type of heavy plastic) and hand-painted (making every shoe a little different--just like the real thing!). Very realistic. Please note! It looks like my supplier started using a new mold for the clogs. One of the shoes might be slightly looser. I suggest using a piece of cotton in the toe to make it more snug, if necessary.

We have 3 different Dutch costumes (each state in Holland has its own), plus a German costume, at Lovvbugg!

Most people have grown up thinking the Dutch people were the only ones who wore wooden shoes. NOT! People did that in lots of places in Europe. The animals on the land belonged to the royalty, so most people were almost completely vegetarians, and there wasn't a lot of leather around to make shoes with. Wooden shoes were great because they kept people's feet dry.

Another interesting factoid about Holland: The Dutch people made a VERY difficult decision in the 1930's to close off their section of the North Sea. Most of us know Holland is very low (sea-level) and very flat. Most people lived along the coastline and made their living from the sea (herring and anchovy especially). Any time there was a storm at sea huge areas were flooded and lots of people died. Closing off the North Sea to create the Ijsselmeer meant it slowly changed to fresh water, changing the entire economy of the area. Then came World War II, which was not good to Holland. The Germans took it and kept it until it was freed again at the end of the war. O.K., back to busines

4 of 5 Great finish (real wood) September 6, 2023

These seem a little big, my doll's feet fit in them well and she can stand on her own, they just...kind of look large on her feet. ALthough, I think that's how wooden shoes are supposed to look? Much better quality than the plastic ones that came with Kirsten's baking set.  REPLY from Lovvbugg: This is the customer's error. These Dutch Clogs are made of resin, a type of plastic, as it says in the description! And yes, Dutch clogs look very large on feet, human or otherwise

Adorable.  My only negative comments is the left shoe was a little large on both pairs and would slip off. Loved them anyway. Would purchase them again or recommend to family and friends.

So pleased  .  I did a Dutch doll makeover by knitting her an outfit and these clogs puts the final touch on her.  My friend was so happy

5 of 5 Beautiful and Great Fit November 18, 2021

I wanted a set of clogs for my Kirsten doll, but the AG  originals, which can only be bought second hand, are a fortune!  These are perfect.  I was slightly alarmed by the size when I first opened them. They seemed so big.  The fit was great.  When I did a bit of internet research, I also found that the proportions are also very realistic.  Wooden clogs in real life are also quite large!  I'm a very happy adult collector.
