The board stands alone, measuring up at 10 inches tall x 11-1/4 inches wide. The framed area is 11-1/4 wide x 6 inches tall. The center back leg pulls out about 4 inches to create a sturdy easel. Folds flat to about an inch thick. Nice size for Wellie Wishers and short-but-usable for 18-inch American Girls. Remember, kids don't see scale the same way adults do. This is the largest compatible freestanding chalkboard I've been able to find. And this supplier--another one of several--closed during the pandemic...

The surface of the board is covered in black chalk-friendly surface. Use regular chalk or chalk markers on it. The brown wood has a rustic look making this a cool classroom idea for any of the 19th century character dolls like Addy and Kirsten.
