Modern Styles - Dresses and Evening Gowns

This fits all the American Girl dolls very well, as well as other 18 inch dolls of the same size. 

The dress is made of shimmery pink satin fabric.  It is sleeveless and does not come to the floor (it IS long, but my picture makes it look like it comes all the way to the floor when it actually does not).  The second piece of the outfit is the mauve shrug made of similar shimmery fabric.  This fabric has a very nice weight to it which causes the dress to hang very nicely.

The third piece of the outfit is the little drawstring purse which Felicity can hold on her hand or wrist.  The last piece is a nice shimmery bow for her hair.  This clips on with one of those nice, strong metal clips.  Your doll's owner might even want to wear it in her own hair someday!

Anna Claire, now in college, had plans for lots of prom dresses over the years.  She just loved playing dress up in the old evening gowns I got the girls to play in (from thrift shops) (also used for costumes when I had the store with the whimsical, elegant birthday parties in the back--with a scripted hostess--that were always sold out months in advance) and she still shows up for dinner in amazing outfits! Now she in college and would die if she knew I told you about it, so mum's the word!

Now her doll can be a princess with her!  This dress is made especially to fit American Girl dolls.  It will also fit Bitty Baby because their bodies are the same size.  The difference is in the length of the legs, so the dress will be longer on the baby doll.

• White satin dress with pink reflective fabric for the yoke.  There are 4 layers of net overskirts and lots and lots of silver gimp trim.

This adorable dress is made of a pretty peachy-pink colored fabric. It is embroidered with flowers in two lace-trimmed panels, one on each side.  There are two pink satin bows, also.  The white collar is trimmed with lace.  The bottom of the dress is trimmed with a pretty white lace.  The dress closes with velcro behind the three flower shaped buttons on the front of the dress.

You also receive a pair of panties and a stretchy headband with a bow made of the same fabric as the dress.

What little girl doesn't just love to pretend weddings with her dolls?  This pretty satin dress is the perfect size for your American Girl doll.  It will also make a nice Christening or Baptism dress for Bitty Baby because it will run longer on her. 

The white parts are all made of satin.  There is a net overskirt edged with satin, net insets on each sleeve, and a white bow attached to the front of the bodice.  The white net veil has a satin headband with elastic inside and three pale, pale pink ribbon roses attached to that.   

I can see that my photographer has put the veil on backwards in the picture so you cannot see the pretty roses. They are about one inch in diameter each.

This set is made with loving attention to detail.  the neckline gathers with its ribbon tie and has gathered lace edging (so it is gathered twice when you tie the neck).  The same lace decorates the sleeve edges which have elastic gathers to make it easier for the girl.  The cap is lovely with gathered back (elastic at neckline edge and a nice ruffle all around the outer edge of the long flaps (called lappets) and a ribbon that tie under the chin with the added ribbon.

In colonial times, the night "shift" was worn under the day dress so it acted like both a blouse and a slip.

Samantha looks as fresh as a summer flower in her new dress with hat set!  I thought this one was cute when I saw the picture, and it is even better in person.  The yellow floral fabric is just lovely, with pink and yellow flowers and blue-and-white butterflies all over. 

• The dress opens down the front with white flower buttons and real buttonholes.  The blue stripe is applied around the skirt, and the collar matches, plus the collar has pretty crocheted lace around it.
• The hat is made of the same fabric with a big quilted butterfly on the brim in the front.

White twill dress with lots of soutache braid which makes the navy stripes on the skirt, sleeves, collar.  Navy blue bow in front and three box pleats with metal buttons at waistline.  Comes with white straw hat with navy trim and bow in back.
