Made specially to fit American Girl and other 18 inch popular girl dolls. A nice style for characters set in the 1930’s and 1940’s like Molly and Kit.

Pale green floral cotton fabric is used to create an everyday dress like girls used to wear to school. There are short puffed sleeves and a pretty neckline piped with deep rose piping and edged with an eyelet ruffle trim. The skirt has gores to make it flare and piping is added to each seam. The wide back sash is attached in front and ties in the back in a pretty bow.

You also receive deep rose satin ribbons to tie in her hair.  This is Anna Claire's favorite doll dress (and she told me I could tell you that!  She is our youngest of 3 girls, age 17, and my biggest helper with the business.)

This outfit will also fit Bitty Baby because her body is the same size as the girl dolls.  The difference is in the length of her legs, so skirts will be longer on Bitty Baby.

Kit's Aunt Milly made her a pretty green calico wrap dress from a feed sack for her birthday.  You will love this adorable style.  It has a pale yellow scalloped collar with green piping on the edges, and matching cuffs on the short sleeves.  The dress closes on the doll's right side with three pearly white buttons which hide snaps behind the scallops.  The attached belt wraps all the way around.  The green headband is included, the shoes are not a part of this sale.

This set is made with loving attention to detail.  the neckline gathers with its ribbon tie and has gathered lace edging (so it is gathered twice when you tie the neck).  The same lace decorates the sleeve edges which have elastic gathers to make it easier for the girl.  The cap is lovely with gathered back (elastic at neckline edge and a nice ruffle all around the outer edge of the long flaps (called lappets) and a ribbon that tie under the chin with the added ribbon.

In colonial times, the night "shift" was worn under the day dress so it acted like both a blouse and a slip.

I remember when my mother learned how to make the elastic shirring like that found at the top of this pretty dress. That was in the late, late '60's or early 70's. She taught me to do it, too, and I made a sundress much like this one for myself.

The dress has a cute edge-print design and will come with the other pieces to make the outfit complete.

• Pink linen-look dress has double front with pink-and-white striped underbodice and front underskirt with a layer of pretty eyelet for the overskirt.  The dress outer front is made of the heavy pink linen-look fabric trimmed with ivory french gimp braid.  Burgundy satin bow at front neckline.  Sleeves have white ruffle at the elbow.
• White mob cap has burgundy satin ribbon around and a bow on top.  Elastic across the back neck holds it in place.

Kirsten was the first American Girl doll to come to live at our house (in 1989) because our kids were crazy about Little House on the Prairie when they were little.

It is hard to see how pretty this dress is in the picture because the scalloped edges hardly show up. 

• Pretty plum-and-ivory plaid (with a tiny yellow stripe,too) poly-cotton fabric is used to make this pretty dress.  The bodice has a large scalloped collar that has been gathered and stitched down near the waistline.  Each sleeve has scalloped hemlines near the wrists.

St. Lucia's Day is a very special family celebration that marks the beginning of the Christmas season (along with Advent).  One girl in the family enters the room with a crown of candles, singing traditional St. Lucia's songs, with a tray of special buns for the family.

This is a traditional dress for Kirsten for the occasion.  It is long and white trim around the sleeves and hem and a long red sash to tie around the waist.  Also comes with red-and-white striped socks.
